MARY GREEN

Mary Louise McMullen Green, age 95, of Wheeling, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling surrounded by her family and is now home with the Lord.

Mary was an only child, born May 30, 1929, in Washington, PA, daughter of the late Howard Reed McMullen and Rosella Catherine Arent McMullen and was raised by her late grandparents: George W. and Mary Amanda McMullen.

Mary lived a life of deep faith, constantly caring for her family and those around her, while showing and sharing with others the love of Jesus through her words and actions.

She resided in Wheeling, and previously in the communities of McMechen and Moundsville.

She was retired from Stone & Thomas Department Store, having also worked at the WV Employment Office and Marx Toy Factory.

Mary was a longtime member at Simpson United Methodist Church, Moundsville and previously Benwood-McMechen Methodist Church, where she faithfully served in the choir, handbell choir, Sunday School teacher and many different committees.

Mary loved music and lived life to the fullest.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert W. Green; two step-sons: Nelson “Ski” Green and Michael Green and her beloved dog: Lucy.

Survivors include three daughters: Dona Sue Thornburg, Barbara (Matthew) McNeil, Amanda “Mandy” Crow, with whom she resided, all of Wheeling; one son: Donald P. (Leslie) Morris of Wheeling; nine grandchildren: Tyler Crow, Jordan Crow, Erika McNeil, Emily McNeil, Elizabeth McNeil, Michele Turner, Edmund Ross Turner, Megan Vizzini and Dr. Matthew Morris and six great grandchildren: Avery and Eowyn Turner, Olivia and Emmett Vizzini, and Will and Quinn Morris and numerous nieces, cousins and good friends including Priya and Pradeep Nair.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling with Rev. Kara Rowe officiating.

Private interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
