RICHARD TRISCHLER

Richard L. Trischler, born on September 15, 1929, in Benwood, WV, passed away peacefully on his 95th birthday, September 15, 2024, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling, WV. Richard lived a life full of dedication, service, and unwavering faith.

Richard was a proud graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Professionally, he dedicated years of hard work as a Pricing Clerk at Famous Supply in Wheeling, before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

A devout member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling, Richard’s faith was an integral part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Marie (Neider) Trischler; his first wife, Mary Agnes Skedel Trischler; his second wife, Naomi G. DiCarlo Kennen Trischler; brothers, Gerald, Joseph, and Maurice Trischler; sisters, Delores Bischof, Irene Trischler, and Dorothy Bischof; and stepson, Russell Kennen, Jr.

Surviving family include his loving daughter, Anita L. (Joel) Hardin of Wheeling; stepson, Joseph (Maureen) Kennen of Massilon, OH; brothers, Hubert (Donna) Trischler of Wheeling and Dennis Trischler of Virginia; sisters, Marlene Trischler and Jeanette Terretti, both of Wheeling; four step-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Carlos L. Melocoton, Jr. as celebrant, followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Altmeyer Funeral Home for their exceptional care and support.
