DORIS FLOR
Doris Lavella Flor, 96, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Shadyside Care Center. She was born May 1, 1927, in Steinersville, Ohio, a daughter of the late James D. Cordery and Clara Bell Duvall Cordery.
Doris was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother to her family. She was a member of the Powhatan Point Church of the Nazarene and the United Christian Fellowship in Middlebourne, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ralph “Whitey” Flor in 2007; a brother, Walter Cordery; three sisters, Daisy Gavlik, Rose Elerick, and Betty Good; a granddaughter, Amanda Jane Cremeans; and an infant son.
Doris is survived by her children, Diana Lynn Stender and Lawrence A. (Jane) Flor both of Middlebourne, West Virginia; 7 grandchildren, Mario Stender, AnaRosa (Adam) Hopkins, Hailee (Henry) Zapata, Lawrence (Amy) Flor II, Alyson (Justin) Scheidler, Jacob (Emily) Bonner, Anthony “Peanut” Cremeans, and Lisa Stender; and 17 great-grandchild- ren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Doris’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held on June 29th, 2024, in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elmhurst House of Friendship, 1228 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.
